Marriage and military service loom, but won’t break up the band
Super Junior, the Korean super group founded in 2005, had some major changes to its lineup last year, but its fifth anniversary year looks like it will be another successful one for the group, which is one of the largest boy bands in the world.
Last month, when Super Junior released its fourth full-length album, it sold 100,000 copies in the first week after its release on April 13. Industry experts expect the album, titled “Bonamana,” will surpass the group’s previous sales record, achieved with its third album “Sorry Sorry.” That album sold 250,000 copies and topped the album sales chart when it was released in March last year.
At a time when other groups such as Girls’ Generation are eschewing the regular full-length CD format in favor of mini albums, digital albums and other kinds of special albums, that’s quite a feat.
Despite their success, the up-and-coming idol group has struggled this year. Three of the band’s members – Han Geng, Kang-in and Kibum – left the group during the recording period. In the coming year, the band is facing new challenges, with marriage and military service looming on the horizon.In a recent interview with 10 of the band’s 13 members, however, the boys seemed committed to staying together for years to come, no matter what life may throw their way.
Here are some excerpts from the interview.
Q. What has made you such a strong group over the past five years?
A. Heechul: We really talk a lot. If there are problems, we talk until they are resolved. Lack of communication always creates problems.
It must have been difficult for you to make the new album without the three other members of the band.
Sungmin: We felt pressure taking their places, but it has also given us an opportunity to think about how important each member of the band is.
What do the three other members think about the new song “Bonamana”?
Leeteuk: Kang-in said the group’s dance moves are awesome and Kibum said he was sorry that I have to fill the space he left.
The choreography for the song is pretty impressive.
Eunhyuk: The dance moves were created by American choreographer Nick Bass, who was inspired by figure skating and short track skating.
Many people have said the title song for the current album is very similar to the group’s previous hit song “Sorry Sorry.”
Leeteuk: Maybe that’s because the new song is so characteristic of what we do and that’s what makes people think that Sorry Sorry and the new song are alike.
I think that criticism like that is better than nothing because it shows that Bonamana has made an impression on the public.
Heechul: For me, the criticism is flattering because it is a sign that we’ve found our signature sound. In fact, Leeteuk and I didn’t like the idea of [Bonamana] as the title song because we didn’t think the electronic sound represented us.
But after recording it and practicing the dance moves, I’ve changed my mind. I think the song suits us.
Shindong proposed to his girlfriend [in a numerical code] in the liner notes and his actions have since become the talk of the town. What’s happening with that?
Shindong: I was thinking about decoding it for the public after the album was released but my fans have already decoded it.
I haven’t heard from my girlfriend since I popped the question, but if she says yes, I want to get married as soon as possible.
Do you think you will still perform as Super Junior even if some of you get married?
Heechul: It’s our goal to keep singing and dancing as Super Junior when we are 30 and 40, even after marriage and our military service.
Do you have any secrets for keeping fit?
Yesung: Siwon always inspires us. Now we’re in a kind of competition [to build muscles.]

Trainee’s Years Story ..
They have a myriad of stories even though some of them have often, like a re-broadcast in the news world. Sungmin already, the story of “Tom and Jerry” fit the’ve also debut. We now turn to the periods of his debut as a trainee before moving on to the group SJ05. SJ has called for a six-year debut. But I guess if you count the calendar has not entered an elementary school classroom. Still five years old, TK 0 large.
Average trainee period, they live for 5-6 years. Sungmin Eunhyuk and Leeteuk, “the three of us place more than five years training” level three of them in basic training as an idol ranging from dance, singing, etc.. And Sungmin showed her jealousy toward their roommate pairs Kyuhyun which he was lucky, “Kyuhyun just undergone training within three months. “But even though only three months, Kyuhyun Sungmin assess how much better than their own leader.

1. Siwon–He is just too handsome. If you look at his body parts separately, it’s still, just as handsome. Beautiful! It seems like there isn’t anyone more handsome on the big screen. He’s also very modest.
2. Han Geng–His qualities are very good. When he smiles it’s very gentle/tender. If you look at his body parts separately, it’s also handsome. His figure is very good. He really is China’s handsome guy.
3. Kibum–He seems like a cold prince. Sometime’s he looks ruthless. Although he is a silent person, but he’s really a nice person.
4. Heechul–He is a man that is hard-to-predict.He is very good at looking after you. If you look at his body parts separately, he’s very delicate/graceful. He’s a very emotional person. Although on TV he’s very naughty, he treats his friends wonderfully.
5. Kangin–He is a person that loves to smile. When he smiles, he is very charming. He is very manly but at the same time gentle/tender. He’s very cute.
6. Sungmin–Your first impression of him is that he’s like a little child trying to be cute. He looks much more handsome now. His skin is very good. His voice is very sweet.
7. Leeteuk–He is very handsome. His dimple makes him very cute. As the leader, he is a person that does his best, and is a very conscientious person toward his other group members. He treats his fellow members very well, although sometimes on TV he’ll say he’s mean towards them, he takes care of his members like they’re family.
8. Donghae–Although some think he doesn’t look that handsome, he is still handsome in his own way. His feeling is very good. The small movements he makes are very special. He is an excellent dancer. Although he looks as if he’s very fierce, he’s actually very childlike and cute. When he smiles he charms you so it seems like you’re about to faint. Sometimes, when you look closely, when he smiles, his eyes are sometimes sad, because of his father passing away. His eyes can talk, they’ll display his true emotions, whether he says he’s happy or not. When he says he’s happy, from his eyes you know if he really is or not.
9. Yesung–He is a very very very cute person. He doesn’t really fit the description of “handsome”. No matter how you look at him he is still very cute. He looks better in person that on TV. His singing is really charming.
10. Kyuhyun–He looks old, although he’s the youngest member. He is very manly and has that “man” sense. He is a very shy/bashful, modest person. When he joined Super Junior, he needed to work on his dancing.
11. Eunhyuk–How did he become number 11? He is very bright, straightforward, and cute. He loves to smile. When he dances he is just too handsome!
12. Ryeowook–His skin is very good. Although he’s a little short, he’s very modest and cute. He’s very cute and is the most kind-hearted. He’s very innocent and loves to cook for the members.
13. Shindong–Although he’s not very handsome, but he’s always going to be number 1 in his cuteness. He’s very cute and very open towards people.

SJ touched by Taiwanese Fans: “We Will Come Again,,
SUPER JUNIOR who held their concert in Tapei Arena for two days consecutively, had fans screaming passionately, which members told the management before the 2nd show started, “Today, we shall have a more special performance!’, in the end, not only did they gave their all, most of the members even promised at the end of the show, “We’ll be back!”
SJ felt that this was one of the most enthusiastic stop, although this is the 1st time they held a concert in Taipei, they gave it their all – letting their fans know through their actions and expressions, got the fans who were watching elated. The members gave their best shot when speaking in mandarin, just to be able to get close to Taiwanese fans. During performance, Eeteuk, Donghae and Eunhyuk even cried as they were touched by the real time atmosphere, while Kyuhyun and ZhouMi went teary during the encore, finally, at the end, members were playing crazily on stage, shouting they would be back.
Specially for the additional concert, they even sang their junior ’s song, even during the 2nd day, the performance was just as hilarious, Shindong even dropped his wig while dancing(rolling) on stage. While Heechul, Ryeowook, Donghae and members cross-dress, acting cute and bitchy, some members attempted to pulled off Eunhyuk’s wig, which had the audience rolling with laughter. Even Siwon who showed his abs specially for the fans, specially introduced Vaness Wu, whom he admired as his “Good Brother”. (哥哥=elder brother)
During their 4 days of stay in Taiwan, SJ stayed indoors completely, else either at Taipei Arena or at the hotel, requesting for customer service, having steak, fried rice, spaghetti, salad, mostly food. They went for Korean BBQ to celebrate after their concert ended. It is said that SJ would leave on the 22nd, splitting up in two groups, the 1st to leave at 8.10 in the morning on CI160 , and the other at 2.35pm on OZ712.

The reason why Super Junior Donghae & other members cried during Super Show 2 In Taiwan
Recently, when Super Junior performs Shining Star in the concert, most of the members especially Eeteuk and Eunhyuk will cry for sure. But for the 20th February’s Super Show 2 in Taiwan, Donghae shed tears and made fans keep wondering what’s the reason he cried.
Here’s one of the fan that attended the concert and she found out the reason:
Did anyone realize, Donghae was laughing happily at first!! but when he turned towards the left, he was a little shocked, and stunned there for awhile. Donghae turned and and saw this.

Teukie tried controlling his tears but couldn’t,
he cried so hard till his face was all scrunched up ( as in he cried really hard).
Hyukjae cried until he couldn’t lift up his head.
Siwon kept his eyes close towards the end, and didn’t dare open them
(afraid that his tears would flow out).Everyone either had tears in their eyes or cried really hard.
Both on stage and off, were all in tears.
I attended both days of the concert
and felt really fortunate!!!
We cried even harder on the second than the first day!!!
This time we Taiwan E.L.Fs did it!!!!!!
Its the first time, and also our most complete and wonderful moment!
Every house ( different forums and fan clubs) did well too!! The fan chants too!!!
Hope we will maintain like this till 4jib,
and will be awaiting for Super Show III to create memories that belongs to SJ and us once again!!!!!!

Leader of Super Junior; his name change from Park Jungsu to a stage name decided to Leeteuk (or Eeteuk), which means “special”, because he is a “special guy: Even though he is the oldest, Leeteuk always has a cute image. On the surface, Leeteuk is constantly abused by the other members, and he never defend himself, however, he really takes care of all the members and very proud of them when they made out by themselves and always watch out for everyone else before thinking about himself. Because he is bored and jealous of Heechul and got himself land turtle as his pet just to made him more bored.He tends to hug the other members after embarrassing himself in shows.Because,when they went overseas,he would ask Hotel manager to give him the master key to the other rooms so he can sleep there just for 20 minutes and moved to other rooms. Yesung refuses to wear revealing clothing because of his Jeju-Island-shape birthmark on his stomach. But despite all the fail,don’t you thing he got the most baby face in SuJu ?

Because we have never seen Kangin completely serious about anything.Because he is “small head boy,” since his head is comparably smaller than the rest of his body.Because Kangin seems to have the mental status of a 10 year-old boy. He thinks of himself as Korea’s #1 handsome guy.Every morning he looks into the mirror and sees his handsome face and has to call home to thank him mother (=_=;;;). Because, below the playful exterior, Kangin is a sweet and caring individual. If we can refer to Leeteuk as the mother of SJ, then Kangin is the father. He never denies responsibility and always care for the other members.Because his laugh contagious.Because his mischievous acts to try to pants every member ( regular victim : Eunhyuk ).Because he is the stongest person in SuJu.Because he is not affraid to show his true self despite being an idol.

Because he is one of the best dancer in SuJu. Shindong does the best (in the whole wide world) comedy dances Shindong is like a human-size teddy bear who has an adorable friendship with Sungmin (Sungmin makes him food, and they hang out all the time). Because he is breaking Siwon record in shower competitions at just 27 seconds.He is also talented and he took a big part in Don’t Don’s choreography and member arrangement. Shindong is someone who will shine everywhere, with or without S.Because once you look past his body size, Shindong is the cutest thing ever.
Lee Sung Min / Sungmin / Vincent Lee
Because he is very precise when cooking. Sungmin’s natural love for sweet pumpkin,, he is often linked to pumpkins.Appointed to be the member who would definitely get caught while two-timing his girlfriend. Sungmin can do nunchucks.Sungmin loves, as in LOVES, pink things. His entire closet is 90% pink; his cellphone is pink; his pens are pink. He’s very vain and manipulative about his cute image. But don’t be fooled by the cute innocent image, Sungmin knows martial art and plays guitar and piano.He also a very quick learner.He can do magic,pizza tossing just with hours practise.Cause Eunhyuk only trsust him to give mouth to mouth cpr.He is one of the best voice in SuJu

Cause he thinks he looks like wonbin when he smiles and showing his gum.cause he has pure heart to take every members bullying,because he cried his heart out when he heart the group gonna disband in made up scenario in EHB,cause he,Leeteuk and Shindong make the favourable Teukigayo,cause when Donghae harrased him,he just smile and made a big grin.to avoid Siwon jealousy,he made EunSiHae couple.Because he is the “ Dancing Machine “

He loves Christmas. Because he came from the same hometown (JunNam) as Yunho of DBSK and the two are very good friends.Everybody calls him Fishy referring to his love to fish and his name which is mean Sea.He wants to get married at the age of 32. Donghae is scared of ghosts.Donghae LOVES to touch people, well, at least the members. In general, he is like a little boy. Kyuhyun said that Donghae is five-year-old trap in grown upbody. Because he constantly tease and abuse Eunhyuk and Hyuk just takes it.Cause Donghae is a very good dancer, second only to Eunhyuk.and first of all,because he loved his father the most.

Siwon is a very devoted Christian and constantly tries to convert Heechul and always gives Bible as a present.He is the nicest person in SJ, never making fun or embarrassing anyone else. He is known for his dimples when he smiles.Because he is the tallest and have the best body in SuJu. Siwon has exaggerated hand emotions that got him a nick name “ Gesture Man “ and he tends to touch people a LOT.Because he is definitely a gentleman and was voted #1 most marriageable celebrities by mothers
Kim Ryeo Wook / Ryeowook / Nathan Kim
Because,on February 2006 Ryeowook lost a shoe on stage while performing but he did not panic, he merely waited for the right time to pick it up. Very professional. Ryeowook loves ice cream and free make-up samples ^__^
Ryeowook is the biggest nerd. Because he is the smallest and the cutest in SuJu (he reminds me of an alien ^.^ ).Cause he is an adorable character. because he cookss for other members.Ryeowook has a gorgeous voice,Because he is the eternal magnae
Kim Ki Bum / Pinocchio / Bryan Trevor Kim
Because his once in a while smile will melt your heart away.Despite his quietness,we will be surprise by his sudden mischievous act.Because Heechul name his cat after him.Because he does boxing,cause he so passion about acting.Because without him,SuJu will never be complete.
Choi Kyu Hyun / Kyuhyun / Evil Kyu / GameKyu / Marcus Choi
Because on June 15, 2006 a few Super Junior members were SS501 Youngstreet guests and said that Kyuhyun cooks tasteless ramen. He is very smart and he is currently majoring in Music in college. Other than that, his online replies to fans are hilarious – when people mock him, Kyuhyun always replies his hyungs with witty remark that make his hyungs speechless ^^ ( and his hyungs can do nothing about it ) he worked (and always works) very hard for the band.Because he always made his hyungs play Starcraft with him.Because THIS BOY HAS THE VOICE OF A GOD.

We love him,because even though a lot of an E.L.Fs opposed him,he still trying his best to fulfill our expectation,cause he’s talented in both singing and song writing,because he got the longest legs and so proud about it..cause sometimes he look siwon and sometimes look like Kyuhyun. because his smiling face makes us smile too
Liu Xian Hua / Henry Lau
Because he can speaks english,and learned violin for 11 years plus 6 years of ballet. Because at 16 years old he achieved great results for his level 10 violin exam at The Royal Conservatory of Music,cause he the the greatest violinist I have EVER chanced upon that can breakdance while play it,because he is the cutest when he is with his Siwon appa.Because his chubby cheeks makes me want him as my pet ^___^

Kangin’s drinking incident it related to him entering the army. Leeteuk spoke up about this “it is true that there are a lot of incidents and accidents .”
On SBS’s “Bae Gi Wan, Choi Young Ah, Jo Hyung Gi’s Good Morning” which was aired on July 27th, Leeteuk said “at that time, our members went through a hard time.” “We have been together for 10 years. We love and forgive one another like we’re a family.”
Leeteuk also said “When it comes to a member’s mistake, we advice them seriously. We encourage them so that they wont make that mistake again.”
This is Super Junior, however even in Suju there was ‘mean-ness’. Kyuhyun, the youngest went through this for his first 6 months by his elder members. Leeteuk didnt like the ramyun Kyuhyun made and so he critized it infront of Kyuhyun.
