Fans, thank you and I like you guys”, and attracted attention through the witty phrase “I did not drink any liquor”.

If Super junior twitter followers were combined, They would be 1st worldwide December 9, 2010

Super Junior appeared on MBC Chuseok special “Radio star super show” on thr 23th, and boasted that if the total of their followers were combined, they would be first worldwide on twitter.

Super Junior explained “If we calculate it individually, it’s hard to become first but if we combine all the super junior’s members(accounts) we are first worldwide”

Super Junior said modestly “In the case of the 4th album, it ranked 7th in the worldwide top sales. It’s a temporary position and it’s the album total, but because we were 7th we were surprised. Album sales reached about 300 000copies, It’s probably because those days the music industry is in recession”

Leeteuk said “Super Junior’s popularity is high in the Asian Market” he then added “It seems that it’s only in Korea that we are not popular, this is not only because of us but I think because in Korea there is a lot of good singers “

That day, the members all showed their individual skills. Kyuhyun singing the OST of drama “King of baking Kim Takgu”, Sungmin making a demonstration of NunChaKu, and Eunhyuk sexy dance and singing caught attention of viewers.

Nominees for the Newcomers’ Awards Ceremony confirmed, Han Geng one of them December 2, 2010

The 3rd Music Billboard New Artists’ Awards Ceremony will be grandly held at Beijing on the 19th of December this year, and at the moment, this year’s awards ceremony has entered the most intense preparation phase, whereby the main prizes and the finalists concerned have all been confirmed, with Han Geng and Hebe being the frontrunners of winning the Best Newcomer award.

Super rookies Hebe and Han Geng joins the New Artists’ Award Ceremony

In the year 2010, the Chinese music industry has displayed the most special phenomenon, where a group of “super rookies*” have successfully broke into the records market. Aside from having accumulated years of popularity, they have also received the industry and the market’s recognition for their “new moves”.

In the vocal department, Han Geng might not be able to be compared with Hebe or any of the other artists who depend on their voices and vocal techniques as the main selling point, but after walking out of the shadow casted by the storm leading from his contract termination and putting down the halo of debuting for five years, Han Geng has laid a strong foundation in his first step in developing a solo career, and displayed a remarkable performance. His first album 《Geng Xin》 has many different styles, from his expertise the electronic dance music, to slow ballads which reflect the voice of his heart, Han Geng was able to skillfully portray his vocals in both fast and slow songs. Turning from a member of an idol group into a solo artist, Han Geng has done his homework well**; it’s not difficult to hear the leap in his diligence and singing techniques. It allowed everyone to see Han Geng’s seriousness and hardworking side, and his pure dedication towards his dreams.

The 3rd Newcomers’ Awards Ceremony will be held at Beijing on the 19th of December. To find out who will be the winner of the night, please tune in to the 3rd Meng Niu Music Billboard Newcomers’ Awards Ceremony.

(Note: All other parts unrelated to Han Geng have been omitted.)

* Both Han Geng and Hebe aren’t exactly “rookies” per se, since they’ve both debuted for 5 years and 10 years respectively in the music industry. However, they’re considered as rookies because they have pursued a solo career.
** Meaning that Han Geng has made adequate preparations for his solo career.

Kyuhyun’s ‘First acting challenge’

On November 29, during an interview around 1 PM, Super Junior Kyuhyun expressed his thoughts on his first challenge in a musical after his debut. On this day, besides Kyuhyun, the practice room also saw the presence of Yoon Joonsang, Uhm Kijoon, ChunSangJiHee Dana, Kim Jinsoo, Min Yeongki, and other actors.

On the public site of the practice room for the open rehearsal of the musical ‘The Three Musketeers’, at the Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul, Kyuhyun confessed “More than half of the Super Junior members have confronted themselves with musicals, so I was worried as to why I alone wasn’t getting any offer.” In fact, among all Super Junior members, Yesung, Sungmin, Donghae, Kangin, and Heechul have experienced appearing in musicals before. Especially Yesung, who has a solid role as a musical actor after having played in ‘South Korean Mountain Fortress’, ‘Hong Gil Dong’, and ‘Spamalot’.

On this day, Kyuhyun talked about how he was given the opportunity to have his first musical role, and how he was picked to be one of the actors in ‘The Three Musketeers’. He disclosed that “I didn’t choose to be in ‘The Three Musketeers’, it’s ‘The Three Musketeers’ that chose me,” and “I present myself with a heart full of gratitude towards all the people who let me join this production.” He also added with determination, “And since I have been chosen by the producers of the musical ‘The Three Musketeers’ to fill in the role of D’Artagnan, I will do my best.”

Kyuhyun, who is now getting initiated to acting, said with a laugh “I have really been wanting to give musicals a try since long. More than half of the members already did a musical, so I troubled myself thinking ‘Why isn’t any musical being offered to me’. But while I was agonizing over it, I got my musical! Luckily, for my very first time, I’m with ‘The Three Musketeers’ sunbaenims who are really amazing, and that makes me feel good.”

Then he talked about his aspirations, “Although I’ve never done acting, not even once, I’m adapting to the sunbaenims’ mentality one by one. I’m really worried, but they have been giving me a lot of advice, so I think I’m going to get better in skill.” He then opened his heart and admitted, “So, although I truly wanted to be in a musical, I clearly lack in conveying and expressing emotions because I don’t have any experience in acting. But I also believe I can improve by carefully observing my sunbaenims.”

Set in the France of the 17th century, ‘The Three Musketeers’ is a musical about D’Artagnan, a young man who dreams of becoming a musketeer of the royal family, and the court’s Musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. The adventures of these people and the conspiracy of the powerful cardinal of the French royal household will liven up this musical.

At the end of 2010, ‘The Three Musketeers’ will start to be performed in the splendidly decorated Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul, going from December 15 until January 30 (tickets price range: 40,000~120,000 won).
